"Decanter in Still Life" by Doris Mamon-Kucik Artist Statement - My paintings capture the endless variations of color, shape, and light that are present in nature. The delicate petals of a flower, the contours of leaves create studies in color, shape, and light. In my paintings, I strive to capture the brilliant colors and the effects of light in the scene I am recreating. I work with pastels because they produce vibrant, eye-catching colors. They offer a medium that adds vitality to my paintings.
